WMSJ Global successfully delivered the specialized “Impact 360™” training program in collaboration with the Association of Banks in Jordan, focusing on sustainability disclosure and reporting in accordance with global best practices.

The five-day program addressed disclosure frameworks aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the International Sustainability Standards Board standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2), providing participants with a comprehensive 30-hour learning experience.

Strengthening Sustainability Leadership in the Banking Sector

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Maher Al-Mahrouq, Director General of the Association of Banks, who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of strengthening banking sector capacities in sustainability and responsible disclosure. He emphasized the role of such initiatives in mitigating greenwashing risks and reinforcing transparency and accountability across financial institutions.

Expert-Led Technical Training

The training was delivered by sustainability expert Waseem Hoeneini, who emphasized Jordan’s growing leadership in advancing sustainability within the banking sector. He noted that adopting GRI and IFRS S1/S2 standards enhances banks’ ability to attract green investments, expand sustainable financing solutions, and contribute to the transition toward a green economy.

Program Highlights

The “Impact 360™” program covered key technical and strategic areas, including:

  • Foundations of sustainability reporting in accordance with GRI standards
  • IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 disclosure requirements
  • Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculation methodologies
  • Alignment of institutional strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Practical approaches to responsible disclosure implementation

The program welcomed a distinguished group of professionals from various Jordanian banks.
